Selling/Renting Out FAQs

We know cleanliness is important but based on consumer surveys, we learned that standards vary from individual to individual. Rather than imposing a dry-cleaning charge on all items, we’ve left it up to our users. An item you rent out should be returned in the condition you sent it, and it is up to you to clean it as you wish after getting it back.

Yes, just send a note through our messaging system after an order is placed but be mindful of timing so that the shipping is not delayed more than 1-2 business days. Please don’t exchange contact information or complete transactions outside of ourbazaar.net – users who do so will be disabled.

You have up to 5 business days to send an item, but please try to send as soon as possible as standard shipping takes 3-5 business days after that. If you cannot fulfill the order within this time please contact the buyer as soon as possible through our messaging system and/or cancel the order.

We understand there may be instances where you don’t want to sell/rent out the item or cannot mail it out within 5 business days. Please contact the buyer using our internal messaging system to let them know immediately. If you still want to sell/rent out the item but need more time to mail it, you can ask the buyer if that is agreeable. If so, you can complete the order accordingly. Otherwise, please cancel the order from your Orders page.

If you haven’t yet shipped the item, you don’t have to do anything and you won’t receive a payment. If you have already shipped the item, you won’t receive a payment either but the item will be mailed back within 24 hours of delivery (note that shipping takes 3-5 business days after that). However, if the item is not mailed out within 24 hours, you will receive your payment in full and still get the item back.

Don’t worry, in most cases we can use the tracking information to find the package. First, check to see the status of the shipment in your Orders page. If the package doesn’t arrive at the buyer’s address in 5 business days, contact us to file a claim and we will look into it.

Customer satisfaction is key at Our Bazaar and our goal is to provide buyers with what they see or their money back. If the buyer claims that your item does not match the picture or description provided, she can file a claim (including pictures) within 24 hours of delivery:

  • We will review it and if the buyer is correct, (i.e. picture is visibly different than shown, measurements are different than listed, stains/damages to the item that were not reported, etc.) then we will refund 100% of the buyer’s money and send her a pre-paid label to ship the item back to you within 24 hours of receiving the label. In this case you will be charged the return shipping fee and you will not receive any payment. If the buyer does not mail it out within 24 hours of receiving the label, you will receive a payment and the buyer will be charged the return shipping fee instead of you.
  • If we conclude that the item does match the picture and description you provided, we will still refund 100% of the buyer’s money but the buyer will be charged the return shipping fee.  Again, if the buyer does not mail it out within 24 hours of receiving the label, you will receive a payment and the buyer will be charged the return shipping fee instead of you.

You must respond to the buyer using our internal messaging system letting her know of your decision so that all communications are saved in case of any disputes. If a buyer makes alterations to your item without your consent, you can contact us to file a claim. In most cases, you will receive a payment for the original price of the item (as listed in the item description; or if an estimated range is listed, we will take the midpoint of the range).

It is up to you if you agree to a longer period or not. You must respond to the buyer using our internal messaging system letting her know of your decision so that all communications are saved in case of any disputes. If you do not agree, the buyer must mail out your item within the standard 2 week rental period.

If a buyer has not mailed out your item within the standard 2 week rental period, you can contact the buyer using our internal messaging system. If the buyer doesn’t mail it out, just contact us to file a claim and we will take care of the rest. In most cases, you will receive a payment for the original price of the item (as listed in the item description; or if an estimated range is listed, we will take the midpoint of the range) if you don’t receive the item. Users who don’t cooperate with rental returns will also be disabled.

We understand you are taking a risk when you rent out to other people online and have policies to protect you. In this case, the buyer has two options:

  • Buy the item from you – The buyer can contact you using our internal messaging system within the rental period to see if she can buy the item. If you agree, you will receive a payment for the balance (sale price minus rental price buyer already paid).
  • Pay the original price to you – If you do not agree to letting her buy the item, you will receive a payment for the original price of the item (as listed in the item description; or if an estimated range is listed, we will take the midpoint of the range) minus the rental price the buyer already paid, and the buyer must return the item to you within the standard 2 week rental period.

  • If we conclude that the item does match the original picture and description provided and there are no issues, we will not be able to provide any compensation to you.
